SAFETY
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION
Refer to the Undercarriage Selection Guide for
minimum vehicle recommendations and
ballast requirements.
Improper installation and operation could cause
personal injury, and/or equipment and property
damage. Read and understand labels and the Owner's
Manual before installing, operating or making
adjustments.
PERSONAL SAFETY
• Remove ignition key and put the vehicle in park or
in gear to prevent others from starting the vehicle
during installation or service.
WARNING
Lower blade when vehicle is parked.
Temperature changes could change hydraulic
pressure, causing the blade to drop
unexpectedly or damaging hydraulic
components. Failure to do this could result in
serious personal injury.
• Wear only snug-fitting clothing while working on
your vehicle or snowplow.
• Do not wear jewelry or a necktie, and secure long
hair.
• Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from
battery acid, gasoline, dirt and dust.
WARNING
The driver shall keep bystanders clear of the
blade when it is being raised, lowered or
angled. Do not stand between the vehicle and
the blade or within 8 feet of a moving blade. A
moving or falling blade could cause personal
injury.
• Avoid touching hot surfaces such as the engine,
radiator, hoses and exhaust pipes.
• Always have a fire extinguisher rated BC handy,
for flammable liquids and electrical fires.
WARNING
FIRE AND EXPLOSION
Keep hands and feet clear of the blade and
A-frame when mounting or dismounting the
snowplow. Moving or falling assemblies could
cause personal injury.
WARNING
Gasoline is highly flammable and gasoline
vapor is explosive. Never smoke while working
on vehicle. Keep all open flames away from
gasoline tank and lines. Wipe up any spilled
gasoline immediately.
WARNING
Do not exceed GVWR or GAWR including the
blade and ballast. The rating label is found on
the driver-side vehicle door cornerpost.
Be careful when using gasoline. Do not use gasoline
to clean parts. Store only in approved containers away
from sources of heat or flame.
WARNING
VENTILATION
To prevent accidental movement of the blade,
always turn the ON/OFF switch to OFF
whenever the snowplow is not is use. The
control indicator light will turn off.
WARNING
Vehicle exhaust contains lethal fumes.
Breathing these fumes, even in low
concentrations, can cause death. Never
operate a vehicle in an enclosed area without
venting exhaust to the outside.
WARNING
Remove blade assembly before placing vehicle
on hoist.

UNDERCARRIAGE INSTALLATION
7. Position the hanger plate support brackets (Item 7)
in line with the tie down mount holes in the truck
frame rail. Using cap screws (Item 23) and
washers (Item 9), secure the bracket to the truck
frame. The angle on the support bracket should
align with the holes in the hanger plate. Position
cap screws (Item 11) with washers (Item 9) through
the support bracket and hanger plate. Secure with
washers (Item 9) and locknuts (Item 10).
NOTE: For easier assembly and installation,
vehicle and all snowplow components should be
on a smooth, level, hard surface, such as concrete.
1. Remove the bumper fascia.
NOTE: The fascia will need to be permanently
removed or notched to accommodate the
undercarriage assembly.
8. Reinstall the splash guard using the original
hardware.
2. Remove fasteners from each tie down bracket on
the truck frame rail. The tie down brackets and
passenger-side tow hook will not be reinstalled.
Retain parts and fasteners for reinstallation if
snowplow is removed from the vehicle.
9. Remove and discard the fastener that secures
the transmission line clamp to the frame
(passenger's side) near the radiator. Using two
spacer washers (Item 16), realign the clamp over
the mount holes in the frame and secure it with
cap screw (Item 17) provided. The spacers offset
the transmission line from the adjacent installed
cap screw.
3. Remove the vehicle splash guard. Retain all
fasteners and the splash guard for reinstallation.
4. Position the hanger plates (Item 6 and 8) on the
outside of the truck frame rail. Place
bushings (Item 18) through the rear mount hole on
the hanger plate and truck frame. Secure the plate
to the frame using cap screws (Item 13) with
washers (Item 14). Secure the cap screw with
washers (Item 14 and 15) and locknut (Item 22).
Finger tighten the fasteners until all undercarriage
parts are in place.
10. Mount the pushbeam (Item 1) square with the
bottom of each hanger plate using cap
screws (Item 11), washers (Item 9) and
locknuts (Item 10). Tighten the pushbeam
hardware according to the torque chart.
11. Level the pushbeam with the floor and tighten the
hanger plate hardware according to the torque
chart.
5. Using the bottom access hole in the vehicle cross
member, position cap screws with
handles (Item 19) through the front, interior wall of
the cross member and rear tab on the hanger
plate. Secure fastener with washers (Item 20) and
locknuts (Item 21).
12. Replace the fascia, notching the fascia to fit.
NOTE: After five to ten hours of snowplow usage,
retorque all undercarriage assembly fasteners.
6. Insert cap screw with handles (Item 12) through
the truck frame rail and the top, front mount hole in
the hanger plate.
NOTE: The radiator fasteners may need to be
loosened to position the fastener.
Secure the cap screw with washers (Item 9) and
locknuts (Item 10).
