When you carry the Intelligent Key with you, you can lock or unlock all doors by pushing the door handle request switch (driver’s or front passenger’s) or back door request switch within the range of operation. When you lock or unlock the doors or open the back door, the hazard indicator will flash and the outside chime will sound as a confirmation. 6 CHILD SAFETY REAR DOOR LOCKS The child safety rear door locks help prevent rear doors from being opened accidentally, especially when small children are in the vehicle. When the levers are in the lock position , the child safety rear door locks engage and the rear doors can only be opened by the outside door handles. PUSH BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH REMOTE ENGINE START (if equipped) The engine can be remotely started when the Intelligent Key is in the remote start operating range (within approx. 60 m from the vehicle) and the shift lever is in the P (Park) position. The remote start function could for example be used to warm up/cool down the interior and/or defog the windows prior to your departure. Push button ignition switch sequence When the ignition switch is pushed without depressing the brake pedal, the ignition switch position will change as follows: • • Push once to change to “ACC”. • • • Push a third time to change to “OFF”. LOCK OPEN/CLOSE DOOR ACC ON OFF Push a second time to change to “ON”. Push a fourth time to return to “ACC”. Open or close any door to return to “LOCK” from the “OFF” position. Starting/Stopping the engine Start the engine by applying the foot brake and pushing the ignition switch. After stopping the engine, the ignition switch will be in the OFF position. When a door is opened, the state of the ignition switch will change to the position. To remotely start the engine: • • • Press the LOCK button on the Intelligent Key. Within 5 seconds, press the button on the Intelligent Key until the hazard indicator lights start flashing and the parking lights come on: the engine will start. As long as the engine is running, the front clearance lights will be on. The doors will be locked and the air conditioner system may turn on. After 10 minutes, the engine will automatically stop. After the engine has stopped, you can once more start a remote engine start cycle. You can also extend the engine running time with another 10 minutes before the engine automatically stops by following the remote engine start procedure while the engine is still running. After the engine has been remotely started twice, you need to switch the ignition from OFF to ON and back to OFF again before you can start another cycle of remote engine starts. To cancel a remote engine start cycle while the engine is running, press the button on the Intelligent Key until the clearance lights turn off and the engine stops. 7 FRONT SEAT ADJUSTMENT Manual seat adjustment (if equipped) 2 22 Forward and backward: 1. Pull up the adjusting lever . 2. Slide the seat to the desired position. 3. Release the adjusting lever to lock the seat in position. Power seat adjustment (if equipped) Forward and backward (1): Move forward or backward the adjusting switch to the desired position. 2 22 Reclining: 1. Pull up the adjusting lever . 2. Tilt the seatback to the desired position. 3. Release the adjusting lever to lock the seatback in position. 2 222 22 8 Seat lifter (if equipped): Pull up or push down the adjusting lever to adjust the seat height until the desired position is achieved. Reclining (2): Move forward or backward the adjusting switch to the desired position. Seat lifter (3): 1. Pull up or push down the adjusting switch to adjust the seat height until the desired position is achieved. 2. Tilt up or down the adjusting switch to adjust the front angle of the seat until the desired position is achieved. Lumbar support adjustment: The lumbar support feature provides lower back support to the driver. Push each side of the adjusting switch to adjust the seat lumbar area until the desired position is achieved. 2ND AND 3RD ROW SEATS – RECLINING AND FOLDING STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT 2nd row seat adjustment Manually operated steering wheel adjustment Forward and backward 1. Pull up the adjusting lever . 2. Slide the seat to the desired position. 3. Release the adjusting lever 1 to lock the seat in position. Pull lock lever downwards and move the steering wheel up or down as desired. Push the lever upwards to securely lock the steering wheel in place. Reclining 1. Pull the adjusting lever . 2. Tilt the seatback to the desired position. 3. Release the adjusting lever 2 to lock the seatback in position. Entry to third row seat To enter the third row seat, pull the lever located on the second row seat and fold the seatback forward at an angle over the seat base. The seat base will lift up and the second row seat will tip forward automatically. This will release the back of the seat so it may be tipped forward. Using the tumbling switch (if equipped): Push and hold the seat tumbling switch located on the center console. The seatback will fold down. The lower corner of the seat base will lift and the second row seat will tip forward. 3rd row seat adjustment Pull the strap and position the seatback at the desired angle. Release the strap after positioning the seat at the desired angle. 9 HEADLIGHTS, FOG LIGHTS & WIPERS DEFOGGER SWITCH Auto light system The rear window defogger switch operates when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position. With the ignition switch in the “ON” position and the light switch in the position, the vehicle lights will be switched on and off automatically, depending on the ambient light conditions Front/Rear fog lights (if equipped) To switch on the front or front and rear fog lights, turn the inner ring on the light switch while the headlights are on. WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH The windshield wiper and washer operate when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position. The lever position “INT” operates the wiper intermittently. OFF INT LO HI FRONT INT INT ON The intermittent operation can be adjusted by turning the adjustment control knob, (longer) or (shorter). Rear wiper & washer Turn the rear wiper switch clockwise to select intermittent or continuous rear wiper operation. Push the wiper switch away from you to operate the rear window washer. 10 The defogger is used to reduce the moisture, fog or frost on the rear window surfaces to improve the rear view. REAR When the defogger switch is pushed, the indicator light illuminates and the defogger operates for approximately 15 minutes. After the preset time has passed, the defogger will turn off automatically. To turn off manually, push the defogger switch again. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SHIFT SWITCH (if equipped) The part time 4WD system provides three drive modes: 2WD, 4H and 4LO. The desired drive mode can be selected using the 4WD mode switch according to the driving conditions. Indicator 4WD mode switch AUTO Wheels driven Rear wheels 4WD mode 4LO - 4H D For driving on dry, paved roads. 4LO D H - For driving on rough, sandy or snow-covered roads. Blinking The 4LO indicator blinks when shifting between 4H and 4LO. SH 4H D S PU 4LO 4LO H 2W Shifting between the 2WD and 4H modes must be 4H performed at speed below 100 km/h (60 MPH). Four wheels 4H 4 Shifting between the 2WD and 4H drive modes can be done while driving. PU 2W Operation of 4WD mode switch The indicator will change when the drive mode is changed. SH PU 2W Use conditions Neutral Shifting between the 4H and 4LO drive modes: • • 4H D 4LO 4H SH PU 2W • SH D 4L PU 2W Four wheels Stay on* 4LO For use when maximum power and traction are required at low speeds (for example, on steep grades or rocky, sandy, muddy roads). Stop the vehicle, depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever to the N (Neutral) position. Depress and turn the 4WD mode switch. The 4WD mode switch will not shift between 4H and 4LO if the transmission is not in the N (Neutral) position or the vehicle is moving. Wait for the 4LO indicator to stop blinking and stay on or off before shifting your transmission into gear or releasing the clutch pedal (MT model). *: When the 4LO position is selected, the VDC system is disabled and the VDC off indicator light illuminates. 11 OUTSIDE MIRRORS INTELLIGENT REAR VIEW MIRROR (if equipped) Mirror adjustment Regardless of visibility through the rear window, the smart inside rearview mirror can provide a clear rearview from a camera located on the rear end of the vehicle. The outside mirrors can be adjusted by moving switch towards the side you wish to adjust. Once a side is selected, switch can be used to adjust the position. Mirror folding The outside rearview mirrors automatically fold when the outside Rearview mirror folding switch is pushed in. To unfold, push to the switch again. Automatic fold (if equipped) The outside rearview mirrors automatically fold when the doors are locked, and unfold when the ignition switch is placed in the “ACC” or “ON” position. 12 The rearview mirror can be operated either in Conventional (mirror view) mode or in Smart (camera view) mode. To switch between modes, pull/push the mode select lever . When the camera view mode is selected, the camera symbol will be displayed in the mirror. Push button to display the menu to adjust various settings of the smart rearview mirror in camera view mode: • • • • • • Display brightness Adjust camera down/up Adjust camera left/right Display rotation Indication (enable/disable textual indications) Language (select between English and Arabic) Use buttons and adjust the selected setting as indicated on the mirror. REFUELLING REAR VIEW/AROUND VIEW MONITOR (if equipped) Fuel gauge The rear view or around view monitor system helps you to manoeuvre your vehicle by detecting and displaying objects behind respectively around the vehicle, e.g. when parking your vehicle. The fuel gauge indicates the approximate fuel level in the tank when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position. The arrow, the vehicle. 0 1/2 1 indicates that the fuel-filler lid is located on the left side of Fuel-filler lid and cap To open the fuel-filler lid, push the fuel-filler lid opener switch located on the lower side of the instrument panel. The fuel-filler cap is a ratcheting type. Turn the cap counter clockwise to remove. Tighten the cap clockwise until ratchet clicks, more than twice, after refuelling. Put the fuel-filler cap on the cap holder while refuelling. To lock the fuel-filler lid, close the lid until it securely locks. The system will automatically be activated when you select reverse (R) gear. The around view monitor will also be activated when the Drive (D) position is selected up to a speed of 10 km/h. You can also manually activate the around view monitor system and change views on the around view monitor by pressing the button on the multi-function control panel. Views on the around view monitor can also be changed by pressing the [Change View] key on the display. In addition to front and rear wide views, following split display images can be selected on the around view monitor: - Front view/Bird’s eye view Front view/Front side view Rear view/Bird’s eye view Rear view/Front side view 13 VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY (models with colour display) Moving Object Detection The around view monitor is equipped with a Moving Object Detection (MOD) function. If the MOD indicator on the screen is coloured blue, this indicates that the MOD function is active. If a moving object is detected, a yellow frame will appear around the camera image where the moving object is detected and a chime will sound to warn you on the moving object detected. The following items are also displayed if the vehicle is equipped with them: • • • • • • • • Automatic Transmission (AT) Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Clock and outside air temperature Trip computer Cruise control Intelligent Key system Oil control system Other information The trip computer switch is located on the left side of the steering wheel. To operate the trip computer, push the trip computer switch. Each time the trip computer switch is pushed, the display will change. 14 VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY (models without colour display) & TRIP COMPUTER VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY LANGUAGE The language of the vehicle information display can be changed according to the following procedure: With colour display: 1. With the vehicle parked in a safe location, press the left or right button to select [Settings] and confirm with the OK button. 2. After entering the [Settings] menu, use the up and down switch to navigate to [Unit/Language] and confirm with the OK button. 3. After entering the [Unit/Language] sub-menu, use the up and down switch to navigate to [Language] and confirm with the OK button. 4. In the language sub-menu, select the desired language using the up and down buttons. Then, press OK to confirm. The vehicle information display, located between the speedometer and tachometer, displays the indicators for the driving system, intelligent key operation and various warnings, vehicle information and trip computer data. To operate the trip computer, use the switches located on the meter panel. Each time the trip computer switch is pushed, the display will subsequently show: • • • • • • Without colour display: 1. With the vehicle parked in a safe location, press the up and down switch to select [Settings] and confirm with the ENTER button. 2. After entering the [OPTIONS] menu, use the up and down switch to navigate to [Language] and confirm with the ENTER button. 3. In the language sub-menu, select the desired language using the up and down buttons. Then, press ENTER to confirm. The indicator light in the switch will illuminate. For maximum defrosting/demisting performance, select a high temperature using the temperature control buttons and use the fan speed control buttons to select the highest fan speed. When the windscreen is clear, push the button to switch to the automatic climate control mode. Rear cooler operation OFF REAR COOLER ON 16 To switch on the rear cooler system, push the button on the lower centre of the instrument panel. The indicator light in the switch will illuminate when the rear cooler system is activated.
