BUDGETING CONTROL Knowing what vehicles will cost over their life can help you set realistic budgets. Contract Hire with full maintenance can really help with this – a fixed amount per month, which will cover the finance, as well as scheduled servicing, maintenance and tyres. MAXIMUM TAX EFFICIENCY Acquiring a vehicle for business use means that some (or sometimes all) of that cost can be offset against taxable profits. This is a key consideration for even the smallest SME. The rules for cars and LCVs are different, and the chosen finance product can impact on the tax efficiency also. For example, with cars it is important to choose the most CO2 efficient vehicles to maximise your tax efficiency. The 100% electric Nissan LEAF is the obvious winner here, but there are CO2 efficient cars across the whole Nissan range. With LCVs the funding option can be the most important issue. To qualify for the Annual Investment Allowance, for example, businesses need to acquire their LCV using a ‘purchase’. LEASE HIRE/ FINANCE LEASE • • • • • DISADVANTAGES The ‘traditional’ purchase option • Lump sum deposit • (plus full VAT on LCVs) • Title passes to customer at the end VAT on Rentals With a comprehensive range of Business User funding products available from Nissan Finance, our specially trained Local Fleet Specialists will be able to offer a range of financial solutions that offer different potential advantages. For some customers the answer is easy. For others it might be less clear, or requires a combination of different considerations. Listed are some of the key issues facing a typical SME and the possible solutions to those concerns. PULSAR IN BRIEF Fuel: 47.9–78.5mpg CO2: 94–138g/km BiK: 16–22% SPACE TO RELAX The Pulsar has the longest wheelbase and rear passenger space in its class, with enough legroom to embarrass many executive saloons. The supportive seats are sculpted for maximum comfort and, with 385 litres to spare in the boot, there’s also plenty of cargo space. With the rear bench folding to form a long, flat load area, there is nearly 1,400 litres. EXCEPTIONAL VALUE The Pulsar represents award-winning value for money, with standard equipment including cruise control with a speed limiter, six airbags, air conditioning and Bluetooth® connectivity throughout the range. Spirited performance is combined with innovations such as Stop/Start technology to maximise fuel economy, resulting in a combined 78.5mpg and 94g/km and attractive Benefit in Kind liability of 16% for dCi 110 models. 08 EQUIPPED FOR BUSINESS Nissan is a by-word for innovation, and the Pulsar is packed with the latest technology to make driving as easy as possible. New NissanConnect with a 5.8-inch touch screen, DAB and smartphone integration is included from n-tec upwards. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, ESP, ABS and EBD. Around View Monitor and Nissan Safety Shield Technologies, including Blind Spot and Lane Departure Warning and Moving Object Detection, are available on Tekna grades. On top of this, Forward Emergency Braking (from Acenta) reduces insurance groupings by four groups, saving you money. 09 QASHQAI A REVOLUTION REINVENTED The original Qashqai defined the crossover segment in 2007, and the second generation sets a new benchmark for the class. With more than two million Qashqais produced in the UK to date, and multiple accolades, including the Fleet News ‘Best Mid-Size SUV’ award, it remains the crossover segment leader. QASHQAI IN BRIEF Fuel: 47.1–74.3mpg CO2: 99–138g/km BiK: 17–22% FOR HEAD AND HEART With the agility of a smaller hatchback, despite its raised seating position and Nissan Chassis Control Technology intelligently ironing out rough roads and aiding cornering stability, the Qashqai exudes driving confidence. An impressive 1,585 litres capacity and innovative luggage board system, which allows the cargo area to be divided in 16 different combinations, enables drivers to fit and secure loads no matter how big or small. Efficient, responsive engines are fitted with Stop/Start technology to avoid wasteful idling, and enable superminilike fuel consumption. Equipped with the 1.5-litre dCi 110 diesel engine, the Qashqai returns up to 74.3mpg and emits from 99g/km CO2 – low enough to be exempt from VED, and attract Benefit in Kind from only 17%. WINNER Best Mid-size SUV 10 INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGY Drivers have enough to deal with on the road, so to help share the load, cruise control and a speed limiter are fitted to all Qashqai models. Moving Object Detection and Blind Spot Warning alert drivers to threats around them, whilst Intelligent Park Assist (all available on Tekna) finds and manoeuvres into parallel or reverse parking spaces with no steering input from the driver, avoiding niggling dents which cost fleets time and money. Features such as Nissan Safety Shield Technologies are available through the Smart Vision Pack. These include Lane Departure Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition and High Beam Assist (available on selected grades) which result in a car that helps drivers to be less stressed and safer too. 2015 HONOURS Best Crossover Nissan Qashqai 11 X-TRAIL READY FOR WORK AND PLAY The latest X-Trail completes the Nissan crossover range, offering more space, comfort and efficiency with impressive off-road ability too, meaning it is an ideal alternative to D-segment saloons and estates. X-TRAIL IN BRIEF Fuel: 44.1–57.6mpg CO2: 129–149g/km BiK: 23–26% TRAVEL FIRST-CLASS The X-Trail’s luxurious cabin features Zero Gravity-Inspired Seats that put the body in a neutral, natural position that makes long distances effortless. All X-Trails have a five-inch TFT driver display showing navigation data, alerts and entertainment features, while Nissan’s Smart Vision Pack is also available across the range, with parking sensors, active Safety Shield systems and an anti-dazzle rear-view mirror. Add Intelligent Park Assist and the X-Trail can find and manoeuvre into a space, aided by Around View Monitor’s 360° overhead viewpoint. UNRIVALLED FLEXIBILITY Whether you choose the five or seven-seat version, the X-Trail offers incredible interior flexibility. Wideopening rear doors and reclining backrests (which can be positioned to give more legroom or boot space) provide flexibility and comfort. Fold the rear bench for a long, flat load area, with a powered tailgate from the n-tec trim level upwards, while the third row seating folds in two equal sections. The five-seat X-Trail allows the cargo area to be divided up into 18 different combinations of smaller spaces. 12 CUTTING COSTS The latest generation Nissan dCi engine and all new DIG-T 163 engine, both with Stop/Start technology, make perfect financial sense for fleets. Two-wheel drive dCi versions return up to 57.6mpg, while its CO2 figure of 129g/km is a 39g/km reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its predecessor, making it one of the most efficient large crossovers in the market. The latest DIG-T 163 engine means that not only will owners benefit from one of the most advanced and fuel-efficient petrol engines on the market, they will also find that X-Trail ownership is now even more affordable. The latest engine to be added to the line-up benefits from whole-life cost reductions and you’ll enjoy lower service and maintenance bills for the new car, as well as a 10-group insurance rating reduction and improvement in residual value. 13 JUKE MICRA & NOTE A PERFECT FIT FOR FLEETS The Nissan Juke is a compact crossover that thrills on the road, but also makes sense financially. MICRA IN BRIEF Fuel: 52.3–68.9mpg CO2: 95–125g/km BiK: 14–20% A SMALL CAR WITH EXECUTIVE AMBITION NOTE IN BRIEF Fuel: 55.4–78.5mpg CO2: 93–119g/km BiK: 16–18% Built for city life, the Nissan Micra is as efficient as it is stylish. With CO2 emissions from just 95g/km and excellent manoeuvrability, it’s the perfect city car. JUKE IN BRIEF Fuel: 43.5–70.6mpg CO2: 104–153g/km BiK: 18–25% 14 FORM AND FUNCTION The Juke packs surprising functionality into its compact, aggressively-styled proportions. Boot space has now increased by 40% on two-wheel drive versions, offering a generous 354 litres of capacity and a split-level load floor to conceal and protect valuables. Fold the rear bench, and it can provide a completely flat load area from the tailgate to the front seats. DAB and satellite navigation. This also doubles as the display for the Around View Monitor which creates a 360° bird’s-eye view of the car’s surroundings (available on selected grades). Nissan Safety Shield Technologies mean both you and your car are protected. They monitor blind spots and lane positioning, as well as looking out for moving objects while manoeuvring in town, resulting in a safer and more relaxing drive (available on selected grades). COMPACT BUT CLEVER As technology-rich as the rest of the Nissan range, the Juke makes life easy. The NissanConnect system can stream and control smartphone apps including Facebook and TripAdvisor via its 5.8-inch screen, and also includes SOUL OF A SPORTS CAR Juke takes the responsiveness and driving dynamics of a performance car and blends them with the visibility and style of an SUV. Punchy engines include a 110PS 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit with Stop/Start that results in CO2 emissions from just 104g/km. For those drivers and fleets needing a great value city car, the Nissan Micra comes with a number of useful features and benefits. With CO2 emissions from just 95g/km, Stop/ Start technology and a tiny turning circle, the Micra excels as a small car. Alongside its modern, dynamic interior, there are technologies such as NissanConnect with Google services, Parking Slot Measurement with Park Assist and Intelligent Key (available on selected grades). Also featuring Bluetooth® telephone integration as standard, Micra drivers never feel short-changed. LOW COST HIGH PRACTICALITY Keep control on the road and of your finances with the Nissan Note. Loaded with the latest premium technology to ease your daily journey, Note also benefits from highly efficient DIG-S engines at 16% BiK for a really cost-effective business case. The Nissan Note is a flexible supermini with stylish design, and a spacious, versatile interior. A rear sliding bench and a Flexi-board boot partition create an array of luggage compartment options, while 90° opening doors simplify everyday tasks. Its new engine can deliver up to 98PS with DIG-S 1.2L, while the dCi 1.5 reduces CO2 emissions to 93g/km with official combined fuel consumption of 78.5mpg. Efficiency is helped even further with the Eco drive mode and Stop/Start technology. Available with NissanConnect and Safety Shield Technologies (from Acenta Premium grade upwards), Note brings large car features into a refined supermini. 15 LEAF MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY MINIMUM IMPACT The world’s best selling EV – the 100% electric Nissan LEAF, with over 220,000 vehicles sold globally – has clocked up an impressive 1.2 billion kilometres worldwide. Fleets are already benefiting from the cost, CSR and environmental advantages of the game-changing Nissan LEAF. THE FLEET VIEW “Investing in the LEAF has probably been the best decision we’ve ever made as a company. Our customers love them and most of the big hotels in the area now use us as their taxi company of choice, which has been a real coup. The LEAF has been truly transformational for our business.” Michelle Williams, Owner, C&C Taxis “Adding the Nissan LEAFs to our fleet has been a win-win situation for us. Firstly, there’s the obvious cash savings they generate, but we’ve also noticed a significant spike in enquiries since they entered service.” Matthew Wilkinson, Business Development Director, Dendrow International LEAF IN BRIEF Range: CO2: BiK: Up to 155 miles Zero emissions 5% THE ELECTRIC SIDE OF DRIVING Transform your business with an all electric fleet. Our range of pioneering 100% electric vehicles offers top class performance and cutting edge technology, allowing you to enjoy the ride, reduce emissions and save money. LOW RUNNING COSTS The Nissan LEAF makes great financial sense for fleets. It’s eligible for the government £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant and it’s exempt from the London Congestion Charge. Drivers can also take advantage of reduced running costs too. Thanks to its electric drivetrain, there are fewer moving parts to service and the LEAF attracts a 5% Benefit in Kind liability. Available with 24 or 30kw battery, the latest LEAF now has a range of up to 155 miles (30kw version), meaning it can meet most drivers’ daily needs. A full charge takes just four hours. Rapid charging enables 80% of the range to be recovered in 30 minutes at hundreds of charge points nationwide, making longer journeys possible. Selected models include CARWINGS telematics systems, which enable drivers to pre-set cabin temperatures and charging times, as well as downloading trip reports via a smartphone or browser. 16 NO COMPROMISES Despite the technology on board, the LEAF is as flexible and practical as any other hatchback. Its interior offers space for five adults, with increased legroom and a boot capacity of up to 370 litres, expandable via the folding bench. GREEN FOR LIFE The Nissan LEAF’s 100% electric drivetrain is engineered for maximum energy efficiency, and emits no noise or pollutants making it perfect for urban use. But it isn’t only environmentally sound in operation – 20% of the LEAF is made from recycled materials, and 95% of the car is recoverable at the end of its life cycle. So not only is it good for the environment, but it’ll improve your fleet’s image too. 17 e-NV200 ELECTRIFY YOUR LCV FLEET The multi award-winning Nissan e-NV200 repackages the LEAF’s proven technology into a versatile commercial vehicle. Eligible for a government Plug-in Van Grant. e-NV200 IN BRIEF Payload: Up to 703 kg Capacity: Up to 4.2m3 CO2: Zero emissions ENGINEERED FOR VERSATILITY Building on the already versatile package of the NV200, the e-NV200’s electric drivetrain is derived from the LEAF and re-engineered for commercial use. With no vibration and no noise, it offers a relaxed, refined working environment. BUILT FOR BUSINESS With zero tailpipe emissions, the e-NV200 not only benefits local air quality but it can also work as hard as its diesel counterparts. A 40% reduction in servicing costs, up to four times lower fuel expenditure and exemption from the London Congestion Charge all contribute to ultra-low ownership costs. Both the van, Combi and Evalia versions include CARWINGS (on Tekna Rapid) telematics system to help operators monitor their fleet and offers remote control charging and climate control. And, with rapid charging recovering 80% of its range in 30 minutes, businesses can double or triple-shift vehicles without hours of downtime. ROOM FOR WORK By packaging the lithium-ion battery under the floor between the axles, the e-NV200 van offers the same versatile rear load area as the diesel NV200. That means it retains its class-leading 520mm rear load height (523.5mm unladen) and 4.2m3 cargo volume, along with a payload of 703kg for the performance needed for heavy use. Within a footprint only slightly longer than the LEAF, the e-NV200 Combi provides space for five occupants with incredible interior versatility. The rear row tumbles and folds to provide an even more capacious load area. Seven-seat Combi and seven-seat Evalia versions are also available. E-NV200 EVALIA & COMBI The world’s first seven-seater electric MPV, the e-NV200 Evalia & Combi can seat five or seven people comfortably. You can enjoy both outstanding roominess and optimum layout in a vehicle that understands the everchanging needs of your business and life.
