To facilitate uphill starts, the car employs the Hill Holder system, which keeps the brakes on for a few seconds after the brake pedal is released on uphill slopes, thus enabling the driver’s foot to shift over to the accelerator pedal without the vehicle moving backwards. The new hydraulic transmission enhances the performance of the Maserati V8 engine, especially at low and medium revs, without affecting performance at the higher end.
