The Elise is no exception. On the road an Elise hugs every corner, rides any obstacle and communicates with every nuance in the course of its journey. An Elise steps away from conformity whilst filling you with the greatest of confidence. The Elise range consists of the Lotus Elise S and the Lotus Elise R. The Elise S offers a spectacular package, leading the competition in its class in performance and handling. Powered by an advanced VVT-i engine the car is pushed from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds which, when matched with a suspension crafted to provide optimum response, provides a perfect balance… a true Lotus. The Elise R is for those drivers demanding extra power and torque, effortlessly reaching 100km/h in 5.2 seconds. The 2ZZ VVTL-i engine is also light, using a metal matrix composite and aluminium compact construction, delivering breathtaking performance in any environment. Both the Elise S and the Elise R have a pure functional cockpit that has been ergonomically engineered and the instrument layout designed to deliver information at the glance of an eye. An all new and lightweight dash panel includes twin Supplement Restraint System (SRS) airbags to provide additional occupant protection. A centrally located stereo unit and top mounted speakers give a more balanced sound and new ProBax seats with high specification leather steering wheel result in a comfortable experience on long journeys. With a host of standard features and additional option packs allowing you to detail a car to your own exacting requirements, the Elise S and the Elise R combine peerless performance and excitement with comfort and obliging controls to produce the ultimate sportscar. Elise Option Packs Touring Plus Pack – Available on Elise S & Elise R The Touring Plus pack delivers increased levels of comfort and practicality. Ergonomic design features combined with a contemporary style make long distances a pleasure to drive. When enhanced with the Touring Plus pack, an Elise benefits from leather or suede-effect trimmed ProBax seats, an expertly trimmed full carpet set finished with ‘Elise’ embroidered carpet mats, a leather gear-knob and a leather handbrake-lever gaiter. Touring capabilities of the Elise are supported with the fitment of front driving lamps for supplementary forward visibility alongside noise insulation panelling within the cabin and the soft-top reducing sound intrusion into the car. An interior stowage net, retractable aluminium cup holder and trinket tray divider provide more functionality and a high specification Alpine CD/ MP3 audio system allows for a higher spectrum of music media. All this makes for an invigorating and yet more relaxing journey. Elise Option Packs Sport Pack – Only Available on Elise R The Sport Pack was conceived with driving enthusiasts in mind to provide a range of Lotus designed upgrades to meet enhanced needs on the track, whilst maintaining the Elise’s enticing road appeal. The Lotus switchable Traction Control System (TCS) operates much more quickly than many brake based systems by working through the engine, reducing power when required to maintain traction without taking over from the skill of the driver. The Sport Pack also includes non-adjustable Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs which are set stiffer than the standard suspension to provide a more focused driving experience. Twin oil coolers are included to keep the engine at its optimum temperature even in the most extreme track conditions. The standard wheels are replaced with a set of Lotus designed 7-spoke ultra lightweight forged wheels (finished in Hi-Power Silver) which are stronger and yet 6.6 kg lighter than the standard wheels. Elise Option Packs Super Sport Pack – Only Available on Elise R The adjustable handling and performance upgrades offered with the Super Sport Pack are available as an addition to the Sport Pack and will gain a competitive edge during track days and club events. The BS4 T45 specification motorsport quality steel roll-over hoop has been specifically developed for customers intending to race their cars by providing increased roll-over protection. The T45 roll-over hoop also allows fitment of the 6-point FIA/CAMS approved roll-cage.* The Bilstein mono-tube gas dampers are now 1-way adjustable to tailor bump and rebound characteristics through 10 individual settings. Meanwhile the adjustable spring platforms allow for the car to be lowered within a range of 10mm. A thicker, tubular and adjustable front anti-roll bar is now secured to the monocoque tub with stiffer nylon blocks and can be set in 5 different positions, allowing for the turn-in characteristics of the car to be altered. The adjustable anti-roll bar is 30% stiffer than the standard bar. A track control arm brace provides ‘double shear’ mounting for the inboard ends of the rear track control arms, to increase their tolerance to severe track kerb abuse resulting from more aggressive driving during track activity. The Super Sport Pack includes Lotus designed forged wheels that form part of the Sport Pack, but with wider fronts to allow fitment of Yokohama Advan A048 tyres. * Not part of Super Sports Pack but available separately through Lotus Sport. History and Philosophy Stepping into a Lotus is not just about getting into a new car, it’s about entering an exclusive world of automotive experience and knowledge spanning over half a century. Lotus engineers constantly strive to refine and further improve the product to deliver the best possible experience to you, the driver. This is engineering at its most pure and focused. Every aspect of the development process has been examined and optimised to ensure relevance and applicability. The end result is fine engineering delivering a superior product that is honed to meet your needs. A good example of this approach is the bonded aluminium chassis. Lotus has won many awards for the innovative techniques used in its construction. And for good reason. The extrusions that form the basis of the chassis produce an extremely rigid structure, essential for a vehicle with high cornering forces. Designed to be as light as possible, it also offers excellent protection to the cabin occupants. This technique is also used to construct modern aircraft, so you can be sure that its structural integrity has been tested to the highest standards. Our Vehicle Dynamics engineers are celebrated as being some of the best in the world. Many companies consult with Lotus engineers for expert advice on all aspects of ride and handling for their own vehicles. This global recognition finds its way into the Elise in its strongest form. Lotus engineers have calibrated the powertrain to perfectly suit the character of the vehicle. A new lighter-weight pedal box with stamped steel arms and extruded aluminium pads has been coupled to electronic throttle control for quicker, smoother engine response and exceptional pedal feel.
