Yaris stands tall when it comes to safety. Awarded with the highest 5-star ANCAP safety rating and equipped with a reversing camera and 7 SRS airbags, every occupant can be reassured. When driving you’ll appreciate the control of Brake Assist6 (BA) which provides extra brake force during an emergency situation. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) prevents wheel lock-up and skidding, and Electronic 7 SRS airbags – ZR shown Anti-lock Braking System with VSC Brake-force Distribution (EBD) maximises braking efficiency by automatically increasing the brake force to the wheel(s) that need it most. For even more added safety, Emergency Brake Signal (EBS) alerts trailing vehicles if you’re forced to make a sudden stop. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) helps control any oversteer or understeer you may have during cornering. While Traction Control (TRC) automatically controls the throttle or applies the brakes to any wheel that’s slipping on slippery surfaces or where there’s variable grip. Additional safety technology Toyota Safety Sense (TSS)7 also comes standard on the ZR and is available as an option on SX and Ascent. The road is an unpredictable place – you can never be certain of what dangers may lie ahead. Which is why we developed Toyota Safety Sense (TSS),7 a multi-feature active safety package to help keep you and your passengers out of harm’s way. TSS incorporates Lane Departure Alert, Pre-Collision Safety system and Automatic High Beam. With automated pre-collision warning and braking at its core, TSS uses intuitive technology to sense danger, providing greater reassurance to the driver and extra protection for passengers across a varying range of driving speeds and conditions. This is where Lane Departure Alert (LDA) helps. It provides a visible and audible alert should you inadvertently deviate from your lane, helping keep you, your passengers and other vehicles safe. Pre-Collision Safety system (PCS) helps keep you safe, with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) using radar to identify any threat up ahead and issue an alert. During braking, Brake Assist (BA) applies additional force, and if necessary, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) will activate to reduce speed and mitigate impact. Leaving your headlights on high beam can be a hazardous distraction to other drivers.
