From the unexpected suburban busy roads to the twisting country roads en route to the best surfing spot, the RAV4 is created to let you comfortably roar your way through life’s little obstacles. 2.0 litre petrol engine Get the 2.0 litre RAV4 in either a 6-speed manual transmission or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This 2WD engine has 107 kW of power at 6200 r/min with torque of 187 Nm at 3600 r/min. 2.2 litre diesel engine For more power, take the 2.2 litre diesel RAV4 with a 6-speed manual transmission, which utilises an AWD drive system. This engine has a powerful output of 110 kW at 3600 r/min with torque of 340 Nm at 2000-2800 r/min. 2.5 litre petrol engine For the ultimate RAV4 experience, take the 2.5 litre petrol model. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic, AWD with 132 kW of power at 6000 r/min and torque of 233 Nm at 4100 r/min. So whatever road you wish to travel, the RAV4 is built to take you there and beyond. Model shown 2.5 Auto VX You can comfortably block out the concrete jungle by accessing your favourite soundtrack on the touchscreen display audio with a radio and CD player, available on all models. It adds to the stylish dashboard’s allure while making music selection a breeze. If your library of tracks is on a memory stick, simply play them through the USB port. While you’re listening to your selection, driving is made convenient through a Multi-Information Display (MID). Another convenience is being able to answer your cellphone by using the steering wheel with Bluetooth controls. You don’t even have to take your hands off the wheel. These controls also let you access the Multi-Information Display (MID), audio, your cellphone and voice recognition. Finally, all models come with an internal tonneau cover and multi-purpose net, providing secure covering for items in the boot. IT’S WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE THAT COUNTS. PLAY SAFE. Model shown 2.5 Auto VX Whichever road you choose, the RAV4 is equipped with important safety features to handle it. There’s the standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to help you in emergency situations. It’s enhanced by an Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system that speedily calculates which tyres require the most assistance in braking, at every given millisecond. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) helps keep traction on slippery surfaces by reducing engine power while applying the brakes to individual tyres to keep you on your intended path. You also don’t need to worry about incline starts or takeoff. At that crucial moment just after you’ve released the brake to put foot to pedal, the smart Hill-Start Assist (HAC) stops the vehicle from accidentally rolling back. When you intend on reversing, the rear clearance and back sonar will help you out. There are four sensors on the rear bumper that will alert you if you are nearing any obstacles. Additionally, the VX model has a back monitor to improve your rear visibility without straining your neck. It’s especially helpful when you’re entering or exiting a parking bay. While the Follow-Me-Home System, is standard on all new RAV4 models, the VX’s system is fully integrated with the light control system. This allows the headlights to stay on just after the engine’s been switched off, so you’ve got enough light to navigate your path easily.
