(Fig. 2-7) (j) Route the V5 harness and V4 harness toward the driver side J/B area, then secure it to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. (Fig. 2-8) (k) Route the V5 harness’ white 4P connector toward the driver side J/B area as shown. (Fig. 2-8) (l) Locate and disconnect the white 18P connector from the backside of the driver side J/B in the bottom of the second space from the left. (Fig. 2-24) V5 Harness or V5 and V4 Harness (1) Route the harness away from any moving parts such as levers, etc.. Fig. 2-24 (ee) Route the V5 harness to the glove box area, then secure it to the reinforcement with two wire ties. (Fig. 2-25) V5 Harness Side Cutter Wire Ties (x2) 3. V5 ECU and GBS ECU Preparation and Installation. 8P (White) Fig. 2-25 (a) Insert the V5 ECU mounting bracket into the indicated bracket slot on the V5 ECU. (Fig. 3-1) 40P (White) (1) Insert the mounting bracket into the correct ECU's slot. Clip V5 ECU Mounting Bracket V5 ECU (2) The bracket is permanently attached once installed. (3) Ensure the bracket is firmly attached to the ECU. (b) Fit the clip on the hole of the V5 ECU mounting bracket. (Fig. 3-2) Small Foam Tape Fig. 3-2 (d) Cut the butyl tape in half. (Fig. 3-3) Butyl Tape (Half Cut) (e) Using 3M™ Prep Sol-70 and cleaning method, clean the area indicated on the V5 ECU. (Fig. 3-3) Butyl Tape (f) Apply one and ½ piece of butyl tape to the V5 ECU as shown. (Fig. 3-3) Butyl Tape (1) Do not remove the upside of the butyl tape protective sheet. V5 ECU Fig. 3-3 (g) Using the 3MTM Prep Solvent –70, clean the V5 ECU installation area in upper of the glove box area. (Fig. 3-4) (i) Remove the butyl tape protective sheet, then mount the V5 ECU to the hole in the metal brace in the upper of the glove box area. (Fig. 3-4) (1) Install the space between the rib and V5 ECU at equal space. (2) Press the V5 ECU to the upper of the glove box firmly. (3) After all vehicle parts re-assembly, confirm whether the glove box opens and shuts smoothly. (j) Turn the GBS adjustment screw on the GBS ECU to the "8" position. (Fig. 3-5) Page 11 of 20 pages TOYOTA RAV4 2006 - 2007 Procedure TVIP V5 RS3200PLUS (k) Insert the GBS ECU mounting bracket into the indicated bracket slot on the GBS ECU. (Fig. 3-6) GBS ECU (1) Insert the mounting bracket into the correct ECU's slot. GBS ECU Mounting Bracket CAUTION: The bracket is permanently attached once installed. Large Foam Tape Fig. 3-6 (2) Ensure the bracket is firmly attached to each ECU. (l) Attach one large foam tape to the GBS ECU as shown. (Fig. 3-6) 10mm Wrench (m) Locate and remove the screw from the air conditioner unit in the glove box area. (Fig. 3-7) Screw (1) Do not discard the screw. Fig. 3-7 (n) Using the existing screw, secure the ECU to the air conditioner unit. (Fig. 3-8) 10mm Wrench (1) Verify the screw is tightened securely. GBS ECU Screw 8P Fig. 3-8 4. Secure the V5 harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties. (Fig. 4-2) Tape (d) Plug in the V5 harness' white 2P connector to the vehicle harness' white 2P connector. Secure the V5 harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. (Fig. 4-3) 2P (White) 5. Status Monitor Installation. Fig. 4-2 (a) Remove the knockout cover in the cluster panel, first space from the right, then connect the V5 harness’ white 4P connector to the status monitor. (Fig. 5-1) Side Cutter Vehicle Harness' 2P Wire Tie (b) Insert the status monitor into the knockout opening of the cluster panel. Secure the V5 harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. (Fig. 5-1) RES Harness' 2P 6. Warning Label Installation. (Fig. 6-1) (b) Place the warning label on the inside surface of the front door’s windows as shown. (Fig. 6-1) V5 Harness Warning Label Line Up With Bottom of Window Etching (1) For U.S vehicles, discard the Spanish label. For Mexico vehicles, discard the English label. 10mm (1) Use a piece of clean adhesive tape to lift the labels off their protective backing sheet. (2) Do not touch the adhesive surface of the warning labels. (c) Line up the labels properly and place on the glass once; do not use a label that was pulled off of the glass. Torque Wrench, 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable TVIP V5 RS3200PLUS 90° (a) Complete the vehicle reassembly. (1) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. Battery (2) Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. (b) Clean up and remove any trash. Fig. 7-1 (c) Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. (Fig. 7-1) (1) Position the negative terminal at an angle to the battery as shown. (2) Tighten the nut to 2.9 ~ 4.9 N·m (26.0 ~ 43.4 lbf·in).
