Its functional and strong exterior design has been subtly revised to incorporate a new front bumper that ducts more cooling air to the engine, and can integrate the option of front fog lights for extra safety. It’s still instantly recognisable and clearly practical, with large distinctive headlights and an extensive cab window area for clear, helpful visibility. There’s also a new body colour available which emphasises the Interstar’s impressively solid build quality. We did, which is why the Interstar has so many practical features to make every working day easier. There are two new storage areas; the twin roof compartments can offer useful and out of sight storage, while the central dash unit can hold A4 documents along with maps or useful papers. That’s in addition to the large glove box and deep door pockets, dash-mounted cup holders, and extra dash top storage if a passenger airbag is not fitted. Interstar retains its comfortable driving position, with the gearshift mounted high and conveniently close to the steering wheel. New options that add to this convenience are automatic speed adaptive wipers, automatic lighting with a ‘friendly lighting’ function, front fog lamps combined with air conditioning and new remote locking in the shape of a 3-button key that lets you lock and unlock the doors selectively. The high pressure injection 2.5 litre dCi is available with power and torque outputs of 100HP/260Nm, 120HP/300Nm (both with EGR) and 150HP/320Nm. The 150HP version incorporates an advanced, low maintenance DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) to meet stringent Euro 4 legislation. Matching the new engine is an upgraded version of the highly durable six speed manual gearbox, which is also available as a class-leading six speed robotised transmission on selected engines. As proof of its build quality, it’s supported by 6 year anti-corrosion, 6 year paint and 3-year, 60,000 miles parts and labour warranties. To reduce both the expense and downtime associated with maintenance, oil change intervals are up to 18,000 miles. The gearbox has a ‘lifetime’ fill, and the DPF (Diesel Particle Filter) on the dCi 150 is long life self-cleaning under most road conditions. If it needs attention, a dashboard light will warn you and adopting a suitable driving style for a short period should be all that’s required. The standard height van is available with a short wheelbase 2.8T GVW. Accessing this space is easy, especially with the options of twin sliding side doors and rear doors that open 270° (not available on L1 version), folding flat against the sides of the van to give unimpeded load access. The low loading height of 543mm helps too. Once inside, your load can be secured with eight hooks on the floor (ten for the longer van) and optional four more on each side. Below 3 mph, the wipers revert to the next lowest setting, e.g. from continuous to intermittent. This is especially helpful in stop-start city driving, leaving you free to keep your hands on the wheel. Only you know the equipment that will ease the pressure and increase the pleasure of your typical working day. Using the accelerator or the brake immediately overrides the system, making sure you always retain full control. Your chosen speed limit is displayed on the dashboard o next l e k, ay alk nd REAR PARKING SENSOR Operating automatically when you engage reverse, the system emits a beep which becomes more frequent the closer you are to the object behind. When the beep is continuous, it’s time to stop! The sensors are specially designed for Interstar’s low loading sill and can be turned off if you’re towing a trailer. POWER WINDOWS AND MIRRORS The driver’s windows features one touch operation – useful at barriers as your hand can go straight back to the steering wheel. The adjacent control conveniently operates the electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors. RADIO TUNER WITH BUILT-IN DISPLAY AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK WHILE DRIVING The radio automatically adjusts its volume in relation to your road speed, and provides traffic information via RDS broadcasts. To keep you and your loads secure, all the doors lock automatically when Interstar exceeds 5 mph. RADIO CD WITH EXTERNAL DISPLAY As well as radio station or CD track details, the external display shows the outside temperature (when power mirrors are fitted) and has a digital clock. NISSAN RAPID SERVICE A visit to the workshop is not always planned. But if you have an Interstar, there’s no need to worry. Nissan Rapid Service means that participating dealers will take your vehicle and undertake key service items (economy service, tyres, brakes, exhaust, battery and shock absorbers) without an appointment, but always with a quoted price. These Nissan workshops have convenient opening hours, so they’ll still be ready for your Interstar even after you’ve done a full day’s work. NISSAN SERVICE CONTRACTS Together, you and your Nissan dealer can establish a Nissan Service Contract which provides Service & Maintenance cover for the mileage and period that suits your business best. Giving you true peace of mind, this Contract will ensure that your Interstar is cared for by dedicated Nissan technicians. It will also include Pan European Service roadside assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the use of a courtesy vehicle whenever your vehicle is in our workshops for warranty repairs.
