Or not. The SLC 300 has some magic of its own that transcends the classic roadster formula while fully honoring it. Its power hardtop integrates a tinted polycarbonate panel so you can you welcome the sun while rejecting its harshness. Its cockpit wraps advanced tech in timeless style, like aluminum vent rings flanking a 7" color display that stays vivid in sunlight. Or an electronic transmission selector that’s a sculpture of aluminum and leather. Shift paddles on the flat-bottom steering wheel put nine speeds at your fingertips, letting you revel in the revs and the intoxicating sounds of 241 turbo-fed horses. And while the iconic grille and muscular shoulders give the SLC perfect proportions when the top is stowed, its stylishness doesn’t vanish when the top reappears. Unlike many retractable hardtops, the SLC’s sleek profile and minimized body seams mean it’s equally elegant as a coupe or a roadster. You don’t have to choose between road and sky in an SLC.
