Created to emphasise the sporting DNA of Maserati cars, the “MC Sport Line” is for customers who wish to express their passion for sports cars with a dynamic look, and want the very latest technical solutions to enhance their driving pleasure. The “MC Sport Line” range was developed with the help of the Maserati Corse racing team’s technicians on the basis of their competition experience. The designers of the Maserati Style Centre were also inspired by the world of racing: it is no coincidence that all the components are made of carbon fibre, which has always been a favourite with racing fans. Customers can select options from the “MC Sport Line” catalogue to add personalised sporting features to both the exteriors and the interiors of the Maserati GranTurismo cars, and on 4.7 versions the engineering systems can also be modified to satisfy the most demanding drivers. 03 MC Sport Line plaque for illustrative purposes only. Not available as part of MC Sport Line personalisation range. MC AERODYNAMIC PACKAGE - I The aerodynamics can be modified with the addition of two front deflectors and a rear spoiler, in carbon fibre, developed with the aid of circuit tests performed with the GranTurismo MC Concept. The new aerodynamics increase the vertical load (Cz -30%), allowing faster cornering and superior traction coming out from the corner. The aerodynamic additions give the car a distinctive racing look, an effect also assisted by the dark line on the exterior and the side-skirts with matt black painted central area, which give an even more dynamic side view. 07 MC AERODYNAMIC PACKAGE - II An even racier exterior can be achieved by combining the carbon fibre aerodynamic additions with rear-view mirror casings and door handles in the same material. 09 GLOSSY BLACK NEPTUNE WHEELS The dark shade of the carbon fibre is taken up by the gloss black paint of the 20” wheels, with the aggressive Neptune motif. 13 CARBON FIBRE INTERIOR In “MC Sport Line” interiors, carbon fibre sets the style: dashboard, door panels and rear side panels all have carbon fibre mouldings, and plastic components are in gloss black to provide a closer match with the carbon. 15 CARBON FIBRE INTERIORS - EVOLUTION I The carbon fibre sill trim marked “MC Sport Line” highlights the fact that you are stepping into a racinginspired environment; carbon fibre dominates the central tunnel, contrasting with the brightness of the chromed trims. 19 CARBON FIBRE INTERIORS – EVOLUTION II To give the interiors an even more racing look, the entry package can be added to with the carbon fibreclad instrument panel and longer gear shift paddles, also in the same carbon fibre. 21 ADDITIONAL CONTENTS For those in search of the ultimate in racing style, additional items are available seperately: • Black leather steering wheel with carbon fibre-clad rim • Carbon fibre electro-actuated gearbox control panel • Tooled aluminium pedals with “MC” logo, complete with footrest on left 25 The “MC Sport Line” programme also provides the option of more racing-style suspension on both the GranTurismo S and the GranTurismo S Automatic. The “MC Sport Line” suspension features single-setting dampers and a more rigid set-up, and attention has also been paid to their look, with an aggressive livery with the “MC” logo on the body and springs in red. The “MC Sport Line” suspension is combined with drilled, slotted front and rear disc brakes which give more predictable braking performance and provide a more immediate braking action during sustained high performance driving. Compared to the standard units, the Sport Line discs are drilled with 4 slots and 16 blind holes around the perimeter: the slots keep the brake pad clean, preventing loss of performance due to material detached by friction, while in case of rain their mechanical action helps to break up the film of water. Blind holes have been added on the inside and outside of the braking surface for more uniform wear of the brake pad and disc surfaces, keeping braking efficiency constant over time. 29 MC SET-UP GRANTURISMO S: For the highest-performing car in the GranTurismo range, a set-up 10mm lower has been developed for absolutely unbeatable handling and driving pleasure. As well as stiffer dampers, the handling pack for the GranTurismo S includes larger-diameter roll bars which minimise lateral load shifts (roll angle -20%); overall, the car’s rigidity is increased by 16% at the front and 32% at the rear. The new set-up is combined with a special MSP calibration, which gives the driver greater freedom of action. GRANTURISMO S AUTOMATIC: The electronically controlled dampers installed on this version can be replaced with a fixed-setting type (spring and dampers with damping factor increased by + 8%), combined with rear larger-diameter roll bar.
