These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.” 1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery: • Wrap a shop towel around the hood latch. HOOD LATCH  (Wrap with a shop towel.) FRONT BULKHEAD COVER 2. Remove the three self-tapping screws. 10 CLIPS LEFT FRONT WHEEL ARCH PROTECTOR 3 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS • Remove the intake air tube. • Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 2 CLIPS 3. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the H emblem. FRONT BUMPER AII08967-22 (1901) 5 of 18 www.collegehillshonda.com • Release the front grille. 6. Remove one washer-bolt and one clip, and pull back the right front inner fender as shown. FLAT-TIP SCREWDRIVER FRONT  GRILLE 2 RETAINING TABS FRONT GRILLE CLIP OPPOSITE SIDE VIEW RIGHT FRONT INNER FENDER (Pull back.) WASHERBOLT 7. Unplug the vehicle connector, and release the vehicle harness from the front bumper. FRONT BUMPER (inside) FRONT GRILLE • With the help of an assistant, remove the front bumper, and unplug the vehicle connector. • Place the front bumper on a blanket. Remove the left housing from the front bumper. FRONT BUMPER (inside) 10. Install the left fog light to the left housing with three self-tapping screws removed in step 9. 2 RETAINING TABS 3 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS LEFT HOUSING LEFT HOUSING LEFT FOG LIGHT 3 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS 9. Remove the left cover from the left housing. 11. Install the left housing to the front bumper with two retaining tabs and three self-tapping screws removed in step 8. FRONT BUMPER (inside) 2 RETAINING TABS 3 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS LEFT HOUSING LEFT COVER (Do not reuse.) LEFT HOUSING 3 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS 12. Plug the vehicle 3-pin connector into the left housing, and secure the vehicle harness to the left housing. 13. Repeat steps 7 through 12 to install the right fog light to the right side of the front bumper. © 2019 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties as shown. Line up the branch section of the fog light harness with the branch section of the vehicle harness. Bundle up the excess fog light harness, and secure it to the vehicle harness with one wire tie as shown. 17. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with seven wire ties. Bundle up the excess fog light harness, and secure it to the vehicle harness with one wire tie as shown. Remove the vehicle ground bolt, and secure the ground harness ground terminal to the vehicle ground terminals. NOTE: Do not put the ground terminal calkings on top of one another. VEHICLE GROUND TERMINALS 21. Route the ground harness down the right front inner fender area, and secure it to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. VEHICLE HARNESS GROUND HARNESS WIRE TIE VEHICLE GROUND BOLT (reused) GROUND HARNESS GROUND TERMINAL GROUND HARNESS RIGHT HEADLIGHT 22. Remove the tape to free the vehicle 1-pin connector, and remove the dummy connector. RIGHT FRONT FENDER RIGHT HEADLIGHT 20. Route the ground harness along the vehicle harness, and secure it to the vehicle harness with two wire ties. VEHICLE  1-PIN CONNECTOR VEHICLE HARNESS TAPE (Remove.) Plug the ground harness 1-pin connector into the vehicle 1-pin connector. 25. Install the wire tie with holder to the ground harness 1-pin connector, and secure the 1-pin connectors and ground harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie with holder as shown. Install the wire tie with holder to the ground harness 2-pin connector, and secure it to the vehicle harness with one wire tie with holder as shown. 28. Install the right front inner fender. GROUND HARNESS  2-PIN CONNECTOR GROUND HARNESS VEHICLE HARNESS WIRE TIE WIRE TIE  WITH HOLDER FOG LIGHT HARNESS  2-PIN CONNECTOR VEHICLE HARNESS FRONT BUMPER 29. With the help of an assistant, bring the front bumper close to the vehicle, and plug the fog light harness  2-pin connector into the ground harness 2-pin connector. Install the front bumper. 30. Plug the relay and 10A fuse into the relay box in the slots shown. 33. Remove the driver’s dashboard lower cover, and unplug the vehicle connectors, and release the vehicle sensor. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the driver’s dashboard side lid. AII08967-22 (1901) 13 of 18 www.collegehillshonda.com 34. Lower and pull out the steering wheel. Apply masking tape to the upper column cover as shown. 35. Connect the negative cable to the battery, then press the ignition to ON. Turn the steering wheel 90° counterclockwise. Using a plastic trim tool, release the upper column cover. STEERING WHEEL 90° counterclockwise. Turn the steering wheel 180° clockwise. Using a plastic trim tool, release the upper column cover. 180° clockwise. 38. Remove the one self-tapping screw from the lower column cover. SELF-TAPPING SCREW STEERING WHEEL UPPER COLUMN COVER LOWER COLUMN COVER 39. Turn the steering wheel 180° counterclockwise, and remove the other self-tapping screw from the lower column cover. PLASTIC TRIM TOOL 180° counterclockwise. STEERING WHEEL RETAINING TAB 37. Release the upper column cover, and secure it to the dashboard with the masking tape. Remove the lower column cover. 42. Unplug the vehicle connector from the combination light switch. COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH (Do not reuse.) LOWER COLUMN COVER VEHICLE  CONNECTOR STEERING  COLUMN SELF-TAPPING SCREW 41. Press the ignition to OFF, then disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 2 RETAINING TABS Incorrect. Do not pull on the lever. 43. Push in on the two retaining tabs, slide the combination light switch out, and remove it from the steering column.  NOTE: Do not pull on the lever. 16 of 18 AII08967-22 (1901) © 2019 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved. www.collegehillshonda.com 44. Install the new combination light switch to the steering column. Make sure both retaining tabs are locked in place.  NOTE: Do not push on the lever. Check the Operation of the Fog Lights 53. Turn the headlight switch to the AUTO or “ position (headlights on low beam). ” 54. Turn on the fog light switch (indicator is on). VEHICLE  HARNESS VEHICLE  CONNECTOR STEERING  COLUMN 55. If the fog lights do not turn on, check the fuse and all the connectors, including the ground cable. HEADLIGHT SWITCH AUTO/ NEW  COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH Incorrect. FOG LIGHT SWITCH OFF 2 RETAINING TABS OFF Low High - - - - - - ON - NOTE: The fog light lenses may cloud when the outside temperature is cold; this is normal and should go away in warm weather. Do not push on the lever. 45. Plug the vehicle connector into the new combination light switch. Make sure the vehicle harness is not being stretched. 46. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 47. Install all removed parts except for the front bulkhead cover and the intake air tube. 48. Connect the negative cable to the battery. 49. Install the front bulkhead cover and the intake air tube. 50. Press and hold the audio unit power button for 2 seconds to restore the radio and navi (if equipped) system functions. 51. Set the clock on vehicles without navigation. 52. AII08967-22 (1901) 17 of 18 www.collegehillshonda.com How to Aim the Fog Lights 56. Adjust the fog light aim by turning the adjustment screw in or out until the correct aim is obtained. Adjust the aim according to local laws and regulations.
