A PERFECT,
BEAUTIFUL MADNESS.
“Motors, machines, motor-races, love of cars, passion for speed,
it is the obsession - the very beautiful and mad obsession which
has reached the whole of humanity, which has made us the ardent
admirers of what goes faster and what is more mechanically pure”
CARLO ABARTH
Addicted to performance. Since 1949.
Transforming small cars into performance cars, exploiting every
aspect to deliver the ultimate driving experience.
This is the Abarth spirit since 1949.
1957
1953
Mille Miglia 1953: The modular body of the
Abarth-Ferrari 2000 was a great technological
innovation that made it possible to significantly
reduce the weight of the car and also facilitate
the easy access to the engine and other key
components by the mechanics.
1962 -1967
1965-1969
Six consecutive victories in the World
Championships with both Sportscars and Grand
Touring cars between 1962 and 1967. A period
of great success on the track in all categories
and all countries, giving numerous drivers a
chance to savour first place victories.
The banked racing circuit at Monza:
four wins in the European Touring Car
Manufacturers’ Championship with the Fiat
Abarth 1000 TC: 1965 with Ed Swart, 1966
with Giancarlo Baghetti, 1967 with Willi
Kauhsen and 1969 with Marsilio Pasotti.
1969
The Abarth 2000 SE Sport was introduced at
Imola in 1969. 25 examples were produced,
allowing a number of private racing drivers to
achieve victories in both circuit racing and time
trials. The car made it’s competitive debut at the
Ampus hill climb where it claimed victory with
Peter Schetty behind the wheel.
The Abarth 750 pininfarina was
specifically designed to break records –
between 24th and 27th July 1957 it broke
11 records at Monza , the most notable;
driving 10,000 miles in 95 hours, with
Cabianca, Cattini, Guarnieri, Manfredini
and Poltronieri piloting the car.
1975
The Rallies. The Abarth 124 Spider
Rally claimed victory at the European
Championship in 1975 with Maurizio Verini
(pictured left at the rally of Isola d’Elba),
he also finished second three times in the
World Championship between 1973 – 1975.

The Abarth 124 sets a new benchmark. A curb weight of only 1,060 kg, with a weight-power ratio of just 6.2 kg/HP. The weight is
concentrated within the wheelbase for optimum weight distribution (50:50) and to ensure agility and performance. Unparalleled handling
thanks to suspension derived from our racing experience. The transmission developed in collaboration with the Abarth Racing Team
delivers a dynamic driving experience in both automatic and manual versions. Now, fun turns into something serious.
