1. Identification / recognition
- e-tron logo at front/rear/side/interior/cockpit
(some logos can be deselected and/or removed)
- Charging connection is located on driver’s side
quarter panel
(Optionally also on the front passenger side)
2. Immobilization / stabilization / lifting

1. Press the “P” button on the selector lever
2. Apply the parking brake.

Turn off the ignition
Press the START-STOP button without depressing the brake pedal
Important! If the START-STOP BUTTON is pressed and the brake
pedal depressed at the same time, the vehicle will change to
ready-to-drive mode!
The electric motor is silent. The indicator on the left of the instrument
cluster (power meter) indicates whether the electric drive is switched
“OFF” or “READY” for operation.
If possible, lift the vehicle at the jacking points marked.
3. Disable direct hazards / safety regulations
Deactivate the high-voltage system
Option 1: From the motor compartment
1. Locate the emergency disconnect connector.
2. Open emergency disconnect connector.

Option 2: From the luggage compartment
1. Remove the cargo floor
2. Remove the fuse box cover
3. Remove the fuse marked with a yellow flag

In the event of an accident in which the airbags are deployed, the high-voltage system will be automatically deactivated.
The high-voltage system is de-energized approx. 20 seconds after deactivation.
Disconnect the 12-Volt battery:
The 12-Volt battery is located at the front end of
the vehicle under the plenum chamber cover.
The black battery ground cable is bolted to the
body at the front plenum chamber wall. The
ground connection can be disconnected here.
Alternatively, the ground cable for the 12-Volt
battery can be routed out of the plenum chamber
and bolted to the body at the suspension strut.
Disconnect the charging cable
Option 1: With the vehicle key
1. Unlock the vehicle with the remote control key
2. Press the button at the charging connection
and disconnect the charging connector from the
vehicle

Option 2: Emergency unlocking
Open the front hood
1. Open the cover in the motor compartment at
the side of the charging connection
2. Release the yellow loop from the retainer and
pull it carefully
3. Disconnect the charging connector from the
vehicle
4. Access to the occupants

5. Stored energy / liquids / gases / solids
If the energy accumulator is damaged:
Comply with safety regulations, see Section 3
6. In case of fire
Vehicle fire with fire in lithium-ion battery: Extinguish and cool with lots of water, if possible
with water penetrating the battery.
Vehicle fire without fire in lithium-ion battery:
Extinguish with water or foam, avoiding water
ingress into the battery.
Important! Lithium-ion batteries can self-ignite,
or re-ignite after a fire has been extinguished.
7. In case of submersion
There is no increased risk of electric shock in water resulting from the high-voltage system. Comply
with safety regulations after the vehicle has been recovered from the water, see Section 3.
8. Towing / transportation / storage
Do not tow a vehicle that has been involved in an accident on its drive axles.
Use a recovery vehicle with a load area.
Park the vehicle at a safe distance, at least 5 m, from buildings and other
vehicles (quarantine area).
Important! Lithium-ion batteries can self-ignite, or re-ignite after a fire
has been extinguished.
