Workshop findings: • After the vehicle’s high-voltage battery charger control module, J1050 is replaced, the new unit no longer reports in the diagnostic scan tool under address word 00C6 but instead reports under address word 8113. Service If the concern occurs after the component is replaced, proceed as following using the diagnostic scan tool. Using Guided Functions select: 1. High-Voltage Battery Charger Control Module 2, J1239 (Diagnostic address 8113). 2. 8113 - High-Voltage Battery Charger Control Module 2, functions. 3. 8113 - Change diagnostic address from 8113 to 00C6. 4. Run the test plan and the scan tool will correct the diagnostic address. 5. Check that the high-voltage battery charger control module, J1050 is now reporting in the scan tool under address word 00C6 and high-voltage battery charger control module 2, J1239 is no longer reporting under address word 8113. 6. Finish the replacement test plan for replacement of the high-voltage battery charger control module, J1050. Warranty This TSB simply provides extended repair instructions; it should not be used for separate billing. The extra time needed should be included in the GFF time for the repair you were currently working on.
