The Audi A3 range makes an instant impression. Whichever model you choose, you’ll have a high level of equipment as standard, including MMI Navigation (SD card-based), cruise control, rear parking sensors and Audi Smartphone Interface to keep you connected. There are also enhanced interior elements and a striking front and rear design. But it’s the latest technology options that really enable you to make the A3 your own. Like Matrix LED headlights and Audi Virtual Cockpit, as well as driver assistance systems that watch the road intelligently. The design of the A3 Cabriolet is simply unmistakable, with sharp lines, striking contours and a soft-top roof that flows seamlessly into the car’s silhouette. As a plug-in hybrid, the A3 Sportback e-tron combines the comfort and performance of an Audi with the efficiency of electric power. As a result, it’s capable of up to 29 miles* of electric driving on one charge, while still offering the benefits of a conventional petrol engine for longer journeys. Efficient hybrid technology isn’t all that makes the A3 Sportback e-tron special. There’s unique styling, as well as a high level of equipment as standard, including MMI Navigation Plus, Audi Connect Infotainment Services (36-month subscription) and Advanced key. Available on a variety of petrol and diesel engines across the A3 range and standard on S3, it analyses your grip – automatically distributing power between all four wheels to where it’s needed most. It’s made for the most challenging conditions of all – the ones you encounter every day. Whatever the road holds, you can be confident that quattro will react. 38 Audi A3 range 39 Audi A3 range Matrix LED lights 40 Illuminating features. The Audi A3’s optional Matrix LED headlights produce a light similar in colour to daylight. They also incorporate sensors and an inbuilt camera that detects other road users, as well as ambient light in built-up areas. They then react by dipping individual LEDs to reduce the risk of dazzle, while still fully illuminating the remainder of the road. Where available, Matrix LED technology will even use the vehicle’s navigation data to anticipate corners, adjusting LEDs as you negotiate the bend. The result is a much wider visual range, benefitting both you and other road users. Dynamic sweeping indicators complete the striking look at the front and rear. 41 Bring your phone to the fore. Imagine being able to use your smartphone applications safely while driving. The Audi Smartphone Interface, standard on the Audi A3, lets you do just that. Satellite navigation. Music streaming. Your contact list. Now you can access apps, approved for in-car use by Android and Apple, from the MMI controls on the A3’s centre console, to the multi-function steering wheel. Simply connect your compatible smartphone via USB* and approved apps appear in full colour on the central MMI screen. Smartphone 42 Audi A3 range *Android systems require the download and use of the Android Auto app. Interface 43 Finding your way. Your own soundtrack. Keeping in touch. What’s on your phone is now available on the road. The Audi Smartphone Interface makes linking your smartphone† to your car quick, safe and easy. With Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, you can access approved apps* from your phone safely via the Audi A3’s MMI system – either by voice or fingertip control. So you can make calls, receive and dictate messages, navigate, select music and podcasts and much more without taking your eyes off the road. You can now use Apple and Google Maps™* as your navigation system. Turn-by-turn directions, traffic guidance and estimated arrival times are easy to see on your MMI screen without having to touch your phone – and addresses from your email, texts, contacts and calendar can be added as destinations. Don’t forget, planning your journey at home reduces data usage while on the move. You can play music stored on your phone as you drive, controlling it simply and intuitively through the interface. Streaming services are also available, including Spotify and Google Play Music.* With Audi Smartphone Interface, any text messages you receive while driving can be read out to you – and if you need to respond, you can do so simply by dictating your message. But not only that. You can also use approved third-party apps* like WhatsApp to keep in touch while driving. Google Maps™* Spotify and Google Play Music* WhatsApp, Skype and Google Hangouts* All imagery on these pages shows use of Apple CarPlay with Audi Smartphone Interface. *Availability of applications differs by operating system and is dependent on approval by Apple or Google. Audi Connect Infotainment Services is the link between your Audi and the internet, giving you access to entertainment, information and search functions via scrolling or tapping. With high-speed 4G internet access in your car, via an embedded SIM card with no data charge, you can call up flight information, fuel prices and weather, as well as high-resolution aerial and satellite pictures from Google Earth™. Audi Connect Infotainment Services 3-month trial comes as standard across the A3 range, or opt to benefit from a 36-month subscription by selecting an optional Technology Pack. Weather information Navigation with Google Earth™ Parking information Gives you the latest weather for today, as well as weekly forecasts and a weather map for your chosen destination. Displays high-resolution aerial and satellite images to help guide you to your destination. Helps you find car parks nearby and, where available, information on prices and currently vacant spaces. Points-of-interest (POI) search with voice control City events Online news (individual)* Text and images from a variety of news sources with text-to-speech function so you are kept up to date with what’s happening in the news. Through your myAudi account, you can personalise the news feeds that you want to see, displayed under Online news by entering the URL of your chosen RSS feed. Communication. Twitter* Enables you to tweet and receive updates on the move, with text-to-speech and other convenient text functions. Wi-Fi hotspot data plans* Purchase a data plan via myAudi to create a Wi-Fi hotspot within your vehicle, so that you can connect your mobile devices to the internet. Allows internet searches via Google for special destinations so that you can access POI information such as opening hours, visitor reviews and photos. Integrated voice recognition, which can be conveniently operated by pushing the button on the multi-function steering wheel, offers even more convenience. You can also access POI information straight from your smartphone with the Audi MMI app. Destination entry via Google Maps™ and myAudi* The City events function provides information about current events and places of interest at your location or travel destination. Flight information Get live information about departure and arrival times and search directly for flight numbers. Train information Find departure and arrival times and platform information while you’re on the road (also available for other types of public transport such as underground systems). Using your smartphone or tablet and myAudi, you can conveniently plan your journey using Google Maps™, or from your myAudi account, and send the destination details to your car’s navigation system. Fuel prices Travel information Traffic information online With Travel information you can find out what’s happening nearby and at your destination. The online search engine provides detailed information such as sights, restaurants, shops, etc. which can be loaded directly into your navigation destination. You can also access travel information from your smartphone with the Audi MMI app. Receive the latest information about your route, such as traffic congestion and roadwork updates. The traffic information data is continuously updated and displayed in colour on the navigation map, and the dynamic route guidance will keep you updated. Information on filling stations with the cheapest prices in your selected search area. You can sort by price or by distance for your convenience, and can load destinations directly into your navigation system. The content and scope of the Connect Services offered may vary from time to time. Features vary by model and Audi AG may add, change, replace or remove individual services or features at any time during your subscription for the Connect Services. Terms and conditions apply. Available as an option, it replaces the traditional dashboard with a high-resolution, 12.3” LCD screen, which you can customise by pressing the ‘view’ button on the multi-function steering wheel. Choose the ‘classic’ view, with prominent speedometer and rev counter, or the ‘infotainment’ view, which brings functions such as the navigation map or media to the fore – with crisp 3D graphics and highly detailed effects. Everything you need to know right in front of you: it’s the embodiment of Vorsprung durch Technik. 52 Audi A3 range Virtual ockpit Customisable control. 53 e-tron 54 Audi A3 range Plug-in hybrid drive. The premium compact car with plug-in hybrid powertrain. Dynamic, efficient and suitable for everyday use, the A3 Sportback e-tron gives you the best of both worlds. The perfect balance. The advantages of an electric drive combined with the strengths of an internal combustion engine. In everyday driving, with a push of the EV button, you can change how e-tron works. Choosing the hybrid-auto mode combines the petrol and electric motors, with the system choosing the best combination of each for the driving situation, or you can choose to use just the petrol engine via hybrid hold – to conserve battery power for city driving, for example. Or, if you wish, you can select the EV, all-electric mode. May not reflect real driving results. 55 e-tron Plug in. Charge up. Charging the A3 Sportback e-tron is simple. You just need to slide the Audi rings on the front grille to one side and plug in your charging cable, either at home or at one of the many public charging points around the country. With the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, we haven’t just redefined the way your car works – we’ve adapted the way you can control it, using the Audi MMI Connect app. So no matter where you are, you can see the current charge level, electric range and the location of your Audi. You can use your smartphone as a remote control to start your car charging with the push of a button, set a timer to do it automatically, or even set the climate control running using mains power – ensuring the cabin is at your ideal temperature when you get behind the wheel. Before you can use the Audi Connect e-tron services, you first need to download the Audi MMI Connect app and register on myAudi. You may not use the Connect Services and the embedded SIM for any purpose other than the provision or receipt of services in accordance with these terms. For vehicles which have hazard alert and traffic sign information features, the vehicle sensors will be transmitting information to Audi AG. This information includes, but is not limited to, vehicle location, speed signs, areas where a risk of skidding, breakdown, accident and/or reduced visibility has been identified. The data is transmitted to Audi AG and shared with other Audi vehicles with hazard alert and traffic sign information features. The data is transmitted anonymously and does not identify an individual vehicle. Such data is only held for the purpose of warning drivers of potential road hazards and change of speed signs. For further navigation updates, it is possible to purchase new navigation data maps from your local Audi Centre at extra cost – please contact them for details. 8-year battery warranty for A3 Sportback e-tron models 1. The selling Audi Centre warrants that the high-voltage battery for vehicles sold by that Audi Centre is free from all defects in material and workmanship for a period of eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. 2. A  reduction in battery power capacity of 10% to 30% within the 8-year warranty period is normal for this type of component and does not constitute a defect under the terms of this warranty. Diamond cut finish alloy wheel Diamond cut is a special finish on aluminium wheels. It is also sometimes referred to as ‘polished’ or ‘partly polished’. Special aftercare should be taken when driving in extreme wintry road conditions. For manufacturing reasons, these wheel surfaces do not have sufficient corrosion protection for such use and they can be permanently damaged by road salt or similar. 3. T  he warranty for the high-voltage battery shall be void if the defect has resulted from improper use, handling or maintenance of the battery. In particular, this applies to charging of the battery. 4. N  otwithstanding the duration of the warranty, all warranty conditions of the selling Audi Centre shall apply additionally to the high-voltage battery (including but not limited to warranty requirements, benchmarks for determining freedom from defects, reasons for exclusion, handling of claims, entry into force and commencement of warranty period, scope of validity, etc.).
