Summary of Content
A passion for our future. It’s our ambition to make hearts beat a little faster. To be the dream of every young enthusiast, doodling on the margins of their school exercise books. And to provide the fulfilment of that dream to those discerning drivers who share our obsession with driving. From the ultimate in Alfa Romeo exclusivity, the Alfa 8C Competizione, to the new Alfa MiTo, an Alfa Romeo will always be more than just a way of getting from A to B. If you share our passion, it’s time you took the wheel of an Alfa Romeo. A pride in our past. When Nicola Romeo acquired Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili – ALFA – in 1919, he had a clear vision of the cars he wanted to make. Within a year, Alfa Romeo had been driven to victory at Mugello by Giuseppe Campari, and had come second in the Targa Florio with a certain Enzo Ferrari at the wheel. Almost a century later, our vision remains unchanged: to make cars of the highest engineering integrity that will delight all those who love driving. 8C Design If the name of the Alfa 8C Competizione recalls the days of Alfa Romeo racing victories in the Mille Miglia, its styling echoes some of the sensuous Alfa Romeo coupés of the 50s and 60s. Yet the design concept of the 8C Competizione, led by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, is unashamedly forward-looking; lean, muscular, it’s an Alfa Romeo supercar for the 21st century. Performance The Alfa 8C Competizione is powered by a 90˚ cross-plane V8 engine, dry sumped and with a capacity of 4.7 litres, for shattering performance. It produces 450bhp at 7000rpm, with a peak torque of 480Nm, delivering 0–62mph acceleration of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 180mph. The six-speed transmission is activated by steering wheel-mounted paddles, with a gearshift time in Sport mode of 175 milliseconds. Features The Alfa 8C Competizione coupé is a limited edition of 500, all of which have been allocated to buyers. The bodywork of the 8C Competizione is made of carbon fibre on a steel chassis for exceptional strength and torsional rigidity. At the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Alfa Romeo previewed a Spider version of the 8C Competizione. In March 2008 it was announced a production of 500 would take place, again all have been allocated to buyers. 8C Competizione & 8C “The Spider is an achingly beautiful car – a stunning, proper, drop-dead drop top, arguably even more sensuous and dramatic than the 8C Competizione coupé that preceded it.” Car Magazine “Gorgeous, sonorous, handsomely crafted by coachbuilders Pininfarina, and oozing character, verve and charm.” Performance The Alfa Spider is offered with a choice of two petrol engines: the 2.2-litre JTS, producing 185bhp, and the legendary 3.2-litre V6, which transmits its 260bhp to the road via either a front-wheel drive or advanced four-wheel drive Q4 version. Owners can also specify the torquey 2.4 JTDM diesel engine, which produces 210bhp. The suspension features high wishbones at the front and multilink at the rear for maximum lateral stability, responsive handling and precise, linear control. An automatic gearbox is available on selected versions. Features The fabric roof of the Alfa Spider gives it head-turning visual appeal, roof up or down, and is far more space-efficient than the folding metal roofs of rival models. Inside, driver and passenger will find supportive, comfortable sports seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and an exceptional audio system, with the option of a Bose sound system. Also optional is Blue&Me™, an innovative system with voice recognition, that lets you use your Bluetooth® compatible mobile phone and listen to your favourite music from an MP3 player or any other mass storage device with a USB connection. Key standard equipment 2.2 JTS s 17" 5-hole design alloy wheels s Sports seats with sports cloth upholstery s Dual-zone climate control s Driver, passenger, front, side, window and driver knee airbags s Radio CD player with 6 speakers s Leather gear knob and steering wheel with remote audio controls s VDC with hill holder (ABS + ASR + EBD + Brake Assistant) s “Follow-me home” lights s Electronic start / stop button s On board trip computer s Cruise control s Electrically folding adjustable and heated wing mirrors s Rear parking sensor s Wind deflector 3.2 JTS & 2.4 JTDM range as 2.2 JTS plus: s Leather upholstery s Steering wheel gear shift paddles (Q-Tronic versions only) Spider Car Magazine Design From the 1960s Duetto that starred in The Graduate to today’s Alfa Spider, nothing evokes the delight of open-air motoring like a convertible Alfa Romeo. The Alfa Spider, stablemate to the Giugiaro-designed Alfa Brera coupé, was the work of Alfa Romeo Centro Stile and Pininfarina. The elegant tail echoes the design of the Giulietta Spider of the 1950s, a genuine icon in automotive history. Launched at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the Alfa Spider immediately took the 2006 Geneva Motorshow ‘Cabrio of the Year’ award. “The end result is stunning – we reckon this is probably the finestlooking Alfa Romeo in living memory… with a driving experience that matches the styling.” Fifth Gear Design When Giorgetto Giugiaro unveiled an Alfa Romeo concept car at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show, the crowds around the stand were soon ten deep. Remarkably, Alfa Romeo took the stunning design through to production, debuting the Alfa Brera coupé in 2006. Low, sleek and bearing the characteristic Alfa Romeo ‘shield’ grille, the Alfa Brera represents a bold new era of Italian GT design. Features As with every Alfa Romeo, the interior of the Alfa Brera is driver focused, with the instrument panel angled towards the driver. But passengers, too, will find the Alfa Brera a delightful place for grand touring. The optional panoramic glass roof with electrically operated blind admits plenty of light and the stylish through-console gives the cabin a cockpit-like ambience. Practicality is not forgotten, with rear seats that can be folded down to extend the luggage compartment from 300 to 610 litres. Brera 2.2 JTS s 17" 5-hole design alloy wheels s Sports seats with sports cloth upholstery s Dual-zone climate control s Driver, passenger, front, side, window and driver knee airbags s Radio CD player with 6 speakers s Leather gear knob and steering wheel with remote audio controls s VDC with hill holder (ABS + ASR + EBD + Brake Assistant) s “Follow-me home” lights s Electronic start / stop button s On board trip computer s Cruise control s Electrically folding adjustable and heated wing mirrors s Rear parking sensor 3.2 JTS & 2.4 JTDM range as 2.2 JTS plus: s Leather upholstery s Steering wheel gear shift paddles (Q-Tronic versions only) Brera Performance The Alfa Brera 3.2, with its 260bhp V6 engine, available as a front-wheel drive or as an innovative Q4 Torsen four-wheel drive system, represents the ultimate in Alfa Romeo performance. But the Alfa Brera has two equally impressive stablemates. The smooth, high-revving 2.2 JTS hits 62mph in 8.6 seconds, compared to 6.8 seconds for the 3.2, and the fuel-efficient 2.4 JTDM diesel manages the same benchmark sprint in 7.9 seconds. An automatic gearbox is available on selected versions. Key standard equipment “The 159 drives and feels like no other car in its class.” Sunday Times Design In a sector dominated by derivative design and executive car clones, the Alfa 159 saloon and Sportwagon stand out. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in collaboration with the Alfa Centro Stile, the Alfa 159 features the distinctive Alfa shield grille, V-shaped bonnet line and a high, rising waistline that accentuates its performance intent. Features The exceptionally stiff bodyshell of the Alfa 159 contributes to its outstanding handling and ride quality. It’s also the reason why the Alfa 159 saloon has a top-rated Euro NCAP five-star rating. Alfa 159 models are lavishly equipped, including Alfa Romeo’s unique Blue&Me™ system for on-board communication, information and personal entertainment as standard on Lusso and TI versions. 159 & 159 Sportwagon Turismo s 16" design alloy wheels s Manual climate control s Driver, passenger, front, side, window and driver knee airbags s Radio CD player with 8 speakers s Leather gear knob and steering wheel with remote audio controls s VDC with hill holder (ABS + ASR + EBD + Brake Assistant) s Electronic start / stop button s Electric front and rear windows s On board trip computer s Alfatex®cloth upholstery Lusso as Turismo, plus: s 17" design alloy wheels s Dual-zone automatic climate control s Leather upholstery s Cruise control s Blue&Me™ (Bluetooth™ hands-free system with voice recognition and media player with USB port in the glove box) s Rear parking sensor s Aluminium centre console and trim inserts s Visibility pack s Electrically folding adjustable and heated wing mirrors s Aluminium brake callipers (3.2 JTS / 2.4 JTDM range) TI as Turismo plus: s 19" unique spoke-design alloy wheels s Red Brembo brake callipers (front & rear) s Lowered sports suspension & body kit s Front seats with three stage heating s Sports leather steering wheel & gear knob with remote audio controls s Brushed aluminium centre console & trim inserts s Chrome-effect wing mirrors s Sports seats upholstered in sports leather s Blue&Me™ (Bluetooth™ hands-free system with voice recognition and media player with USB port in the glove box) s Dual-zone automatic climate control s Cruise control s Rear parking sensor 159 Performance There are three petrol-engined models in the Alfa 159 range, all featuring direct injection, and two second-generation common-rail diesels. The diesel-engined 2.4 JTDM saloon reaches 62mph in 8.1 seconds yet returns 41.5mpg combined. Its stablemate, the 1.9 JTDM 16v returns 47.9mpg combined, with CO2 emissions of 159 g/km. All three petrol engines, a 1.8 MPI with 140bhp, a 2.2 16v with 185bhp and a 3.2 V6 with 260bhp, employ state of the art direct injection technology and variable valve timing on both inlet and exhaust camshafts. Both the 2.4 JTDM and 3.2 V6 engines are available in either front wheel drive or the advanced four-wheel drive Q4 system. A Q-Tronic automatic gearbox is also available on selected versions. Key standard equipment “The Alfa GT is a handsome beast and looks rather special. It feels special, too.” Top Gear magazine Design Designed by Bertone, the Alfa GT is low, sleek, poised and features the characteristic Alfa Romeo V-shaped bonnet line, shield grille and muscular profile. With its versatile seating and space for four, the Alfa GT represents a unique combination of practicality, performance and style. Performance The Alfa GT is offered with either the 2.0 JTS petrol engine or the 1.9 JTDM 16V diesel. Both give the lithe Alfa GT excellent performance and fuel efficiency; the 2.0 JTS hits 62mph in 8.7 seconds whilst its diesel stablemate is a mere 0.9 seconds behind at 9.6 seconds. The front double wishbone suspension and rear multi-link set up provides outstanding handling, feedback and roadholding, as you would expect of an Alfa Romeo. A 1.8 TS engine is also available on selected special edition versions of the Alfa GT. Luxuries like cruise control, Dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable, heated and folding rear mirrors are all standard, along with Vehicle Dynamic Control for extra assurance and safety at the limit. The Alfa GT Q2 version offers the additional performance enhancement of an Alfaengineered limited slip differential. Key standard equipment “Stylish and sporty small hatch with some excellent petrol and turbodiesel engines.” What Car? magazine Design The Alfa 147 was created by Walter da Silva and Wolfgang Egger, and its sporting style puts it in a different league to the average hatchback. Contemporary Italian design features both inside and out includes striking headlight clusters, which accentuate the signature shield grille with its five metal bars topped by the famous Alfa Romeo badge. The Alfa 147 is available either in three or five door versions. Performance The Alfa 147 upholds the Alfa Romeo tradition of delivering a more rewarding driving experience, whichever model you choose. Petrol engines include the 1.6 Twin Spark and 2.0 Twin Spark, each of which features two spark plugs per cylinders for optimum combustion efficiency. The 1.9 JTDM 8v and 1.9 JTDM 16v diesel engines use Multijet technology to combine refinement with economy. The Alfa 147 1.9 JTDM 16v can also be specified with the Alfa Romeo Q2 limited slip differential to deliver enhanced road-holding and performance. 147 Turismo s 16" sport design alloy wheels s Cruise control s Manual climate control s Driver, passenger, front, side and window airbags s Electrically adjustable heated wing mirrors s Radio CD player with 8 speakers s Leather steering wheel and gear knob s ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) s “Follow-me home” lights s VDC with ASR plus brake assitance (1.9 JTDM 16v versions only) s On board trip computer s Fog lights s Alfatex®cloth upholstery s Front arm rest Lusso as Turismo plus: s 16" spoke-design alloy wheels s Dual-zone automatic climate control s Leather upholstery s Stainless steel kick plate s Remote audio controls on steering wheel s VDC with ASR plus brake assitance (1.9 JTDM 16v & 2.0 JTS) s Comfort pack s Rear parking sensor 147 Features Luxuriously appointed, the Alfa 147 standard features include 16" alloy wheels, cruise control and leather steering wheel and gear knob. Optional features include Dual-zone climate control and leather upholstery. With its hooded instruments, sports steering wheel and high quality materials, the interior of an Alfa 147 feels relaxed, comfortable and inspiring. Key standard equipment Design Described as the most compact sports car Alfa Romeo has ever made, the MiTo was designed by the Centro Stile studios in Milan, and will be built in Torino (Turin); these two cities provide the inspiration for the name. Head on, the striking frontal aspect of the MiTo shares distinct design cues with its high-performance supercar stablemate, the 8C Competizione. With its frameless side windows, distinctive V-shape bonnet line and muscular haunches, the Alfa MiTo is clearly a thoroughbred Alfa Romeo, despite its compact dimensions. Performance The sporting new Alfa MiTo is due for international launch in July 2008, with righthand drive models expected in the UK in early 2009. Both petrol and diesel engines will be offered, ranging in power output from 90bhp to 155bhp. All models will come as standard with Alfa’s new D.N.A chassis system. Three settings – Dynamic, Normal and All-Weather – adjust the engine, brakes, steering, suspension and gearbox to suit the conditions. Features The MiTo may be compact, but it’s lavishly equipped with the latest safety and convenience features. The design of the dashboard is avant-garde and there’s plenty of opportunity to personalise the MiTo to your tastes – you can even change the headlight and tail light surrounds for a more individual look. Other highlights include 7 airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Hill Holder, and LED rear lights, making the MiTo arguably the best equipped car in its class.
